Photostory Friday and BFF's in the making

On Wednesday, the girls and I hung out with our favorite quad buddies at one of our favorite summer hotspots....the wading pool!

The girls and I have been frequent visitors to the pool this year and I knew that Gen and her kiddos would love it as much as we do. See that fence in the background? It means all 7 of our kids are easily contained and the frequent head-counting that we both do is accomplished much easier! The only thing missing was the poolside margarita drinking for Gen and I. I guess we'll have to save that for another time and place.

Fun in the sun

Our two lovebugs found each other. Gen's sweet Ally Boo-Boo and my Lissy Bear...BFF's in the making!

These two had so much fun together!

Russell showing off his beach bod for all the ladies!

Gen and I decided that although Russ could care less about all the chicks his sisters hang around with now.... it's probably a safe bet that he'll be thanking his lucky stars 15 years from now!

Me and Gen...enjoying a relatively stress-free day.
Gen, you are an amazing mother and friend...can't wait for the next adventure!

Girl Power!

How sweet is this? The perfect ending to our day!

Gen, thanks for sharing your pics with us. I was a bad blogger and forgot my camera. Go visit Gen's blog to read about how we first met and our cinematic moment at the pool!

They call me mommy

Car rides with the girls have turned into "20,000" questions, all of which begin with "mommy."

Don't get me wrong, I love the ideas and questions the girls come up with and half the time I'm cracking up over their conversations, but it can get a little tiresome responding to "mommy" 20,000 times in a row.

Kind of ironic that the new hit by "The Ting-Tings" came on the radio yesterday during our car ride. Some people think this song is annoying. I think it's catchy. And totally appropriate when I change my name.

Mama needs some wheels...

Our Chevy Tahoe has been at "the doctor" since Saturday morning. The girls keep asking when the doctor is going to give us back our car and with each passing day, I'm starting to wonder too. What started out as a subtle noise when I pushed on the gas pedal has turned into a complete overhaul of the rear-end. As BF Jess so eloquently put it when I gave her the latest news...the butt is broken on my Tahoe.

We were 200 miles away from hitting 100,000 miles. But thankfully, we got the car in the shop before the extended warranty expired....at 100,000 miles.

What complicates matters is that our extended warranty is through an outside company so the dealer has to get everything approved through them first. Everyone was closed on Sunday and the extended warranty company is on the East coast so timing has not been on our side. When the dealer finally figured out how extensive the problem was yesterday afternoon, the extended warranty company was already closed for the day. I just got a call that they have to send an adjuster out to look at the car before they approve anything. Just give them 24-48 hours.

So, I'm trying to wait patiently while the dealer gets all this figured out. Meanwhile, I've been stuck at home with three kids and no car. Juggling one car with Steve and his busy work schedule is not easy. And we need milk.

I see a rental car in our future.
