Prayers for the Yu family

Elyse Yu passed away at 3 a.m. this morning. She was only 8 months old. I cannot imagine the grief that her parents and extended family are going through right now. I did not know this family personally but was touched by her story. I hope that many people are motivated by her story to register as a bone marrow donor. I registered and it was very easy. Elyse Yu update

Back in June, I wrote about a 4 month old triplet baby girl who was in need of a bone marrow donor due to a rare blood disease that she was diagnosed with. Thankfully, one of Elyse's sisters was found to be a match and she is currently in the process of a bone marrow transplant.

Elyse is struggling for her life right now. She is suffering from side effects of the bone marrow transplant that can cause her liver or other organs to go into complete failure. The doctors have begun dialysis on her kidneys to help relieve some of the severe swelling she is suffering from.
