Tuesday's Tribute- Thunder Storms

We have had the craziest weather over the last few days ranging from hot-hot-hot one day to thunderstorms the next. We woke up on Saturday morning with overcast skies and leaves being blown everywhere by the trees. By mid-morning, we heard thunder booming outside our windows. The girls and I couldn't resist heading outside to watch the rain fall. Makena wanted the thunder to come down from the sky so she could meet him and was so sad when he wasn't making noise anymore. What fun it is trying to answer the "why" questions all day long! I should have paid more attention in science class.

I am SOOOOO ready for cooler weather and enjoyed every minute of our thunderstorm this weekend. Can't wait for Fall.

Sometimes they run around it and other days they do their best impression of beginning swimmers! But either way, I'm thankful for all the water-fun in the summertime. My girls LOVE it!

Tuesday's Tribute--The Pool

BF Jess and I had our first official summer adventure with the kids now that I am on vacation for a few weeks. We have had horribly hot weather and decided to hit the local pool today to try and stay cool. Jess and I thought we'd be there for a couple of hours, but it turns out our kids are part fish and we stayed most of the day.

This little wading pool is perfect being only 18 inches deep. By the end of the day, the girls had practiced blowing bubbles and putting their faces in the water more times than I can count. They were so proud of themselves and I must have heard "I'm a good swimmer mommy" at least 100 times today.

Tuesday's Tribute-Comic relief from a 3 year old

Tonight, I was sitting around the dinner table with the girls in various states of undress. Riley (wearing underwear) shouts out "Mama, I'm naked. But I'm wearing my boobies today!"

Then she stretches her arms out and says, "Mama, are your boobies this huge? Or are they small like this (points to her chest)."

Before I can answer she lets out a cackle that makes us all bust a gut laughing. I can hardly stand all the cuteness....I'm a lucky mama!

Tuesday's Tribute--What's Playing?

I mentioned before that I have a new favorite show called Rescue Me (FX channel is currently airing season 5). I am still getting caught up on previous seasons. Just finished Season 3 and can't get enough of it.

So if you don't know what to order next on your Netflix list, do yourself a favor and rent season one.

Another reason why I love this show so much is they play great music in their episodes.
