My brother was vacationing in Seattle a few weeks ago and ran into well-known rapper Ice Cube. Cube was nice enough to pose for a picture, but my brother didn't have his playa face on and forgot to flash the peace sign like a true homie would.

Well, Riley has been practicing her peace sign and she's got it down.

Photostory Friday....Lloyd's daughter?

I am bumping up an older post of mine this week, because I think it is perfect for photo story friday. I am too tired to think up some new material tonight! I originally posted this on 9/6/07 after Miss Makena got into a fight with our tile floor in the kitchen and lost. This picture was taken when she had only one of her front teeth chipped. She took another fall around Christmas time and chipped the other side, so she now has two little half moon shaped front teeth.

Fashion Statement

It's starting. Little by little, the girls are starting to make choices about their outfits. Today it was black socks. But they had to be pulled up high or else it was no good. Maybe she was channeling her inner 70 year-old and hoping to hit Hometown Buffet for the 5:00 p.m. early bird special?

There has to be a nail shop who needs some extra help over the holidays right?

Potential employers should know that Riley would be happy to take her paycheck in the form of animal crackers, but she does require a siesta after lunch. Smelling her customer's feet and loudly proclaiming "Ewwwww" might also be an area that needs improvement before we throw her into the job market.

Girls gone wild

I have posted before about the girl's crush on the boy next door. Calum came over to visit today and two of my girls tried REALLY hard to get his attention.

The pictures speak for themselves.

They will not be going to a Mardi Gras parade or on a spring break trip anytime soon ever.

Laughter

There are some nights when there is nothing but goofy laughter in our house. It's SO much better than the screaming and fighting that can go on between siblings. The girls were playing and laughing last night and I caught some of it on video. Riley is the scene stealer, of course!

All is right in our world

For the moment minute second. It helps that they are fast asleep. I felt the need to let everyone know we had a great Tuesday night. Barely a whiny, fussy cry out of the whole group.

But wait. I'm awake at 3 o'clock in the morning and can't go back to sleep.

Maybe Daylight Savings Time is still messing with me.

I will report that I am NOT happy with the daylight that has been snatched away from my precious children between the hours of 5:30-6:30 p.m. It means we have to go inside because it is dark outside and the coldness of night is rolling in.

What. in. the. world. am. I. going. to do. with. them. all. winter.

Not to mention when it starts raining.

Oops. Forgot I was supposed to be basking in all the glory that is my beautiful children.

Ice cream amd cookies

Better than a purse

The girls are at such a fun age...they make us laugh everyday with the silly things they do and hearing their little voices giggling and saying new words is what parenthood is all about!

Miss Lissy discovered that her "footsie" jammies also serves as a place to put all her important belongings. The night before I took this video, she went to sleep with two cars inside her jammies, which I didn't discover until the next morning. Is she as cute as I think she is?

All I want to know is, who's going to bail her out of the slammer when she gets arrested for shoplifting?

She's a genius

Riley watched me kill a fly this morning.

"Bug all done" was her astute comment.

I think she might go to Harvard.

Now that we're two

Things are changing around the house now that the girls are all "grown up" and becoming more self sufficient and determined.

Now that they're two, few places are off limits these days. The girls have figured out how to use what they've got to get what they want. Mama can't turn her back for a second.

Now that they're two, the girls get to enjoy ALL the food at their birthday party and then quietly slip into a food coma shortly after. Next year, they'll be napping on the couch next to grandpa.

Now that they're two, the girls have learned the best way to drink all the milk out of the cereal bowl

Now that they're two, the girls think it's fun to keep up with all the celebrity gossip in Hollywood

Now that she's two, Lissy wants her license to drive AND knows she's got a much better chance of making it home in one piece than say....Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears or Paris Hilton.

Now that she's two, Riley demands that nobody calls her a "baby" no matter what her shirt says

Now that she's two, Makena's got her outfit with accessories picked out for the mall. All she needs is daddy's credit card.

Now that they're two, lounging around on the couch all day in their underwear with daddy doesn't sound like a bad idea

Now that they're two, the girls think it's funny to scare the bejeezus out of daddy by dressin' like a Bratz doll

Now that we're two, mom has figured out that we are cheap labor and she puts us to work

Now that we're two, we STILL like to dance like nobody is watching...even if it is with a cheese stick in our hand and duckie slippers on our feet

America's Got Talent

We are working on our latest act that will hopefully turn into a money maker for the family. We're shooting for the next season of America's Got Talent or the traveling circus...whichever forks out the most cash.

Clearly, we have a few things to work on:

Riley has a yell-gargle thing going on that we have to fine tune, but she shows some stamina in the length of her gargles that should translate to a big payday.

Alyssa needs to keep the water in her mouth instead of letting it dribble down onto her chin and shirt. I'm sure the producers of America's Got Talent or even the circus bigwigs don't want to clean up puddles of water after the girls have stolen the show.

Makena needs to work on her choreography so that she doesn't run into the path of the other 2 in the midst of the performance.

They do show some promise though right? Should I quit my day job and put all my eggs in this basket?
