A HEARTFELT THANKS to the Kaiser Morse (Sacramento) NICU staff

Our family is so grateful and appreciative of the doctors, nurses and staff of the NICU at Kaiser Morse-Sacramento. Steve and I were truly blessed to have received such outstanding care for our babies from dedicated people who save lives every day! Words will never express how thankful we are for what you did for our family. The phenomenal primary nurses we worked with became very protective of the babies and you will always have a special place in our hearts.

Marites Labang with Makena

Tess was Makena's primary nurse on the P.M. shift and also cared for the girls once they were co-bedded. Tess has the most genuine heart and is a compassionate nurse! We always enjoyed visiting with Tess in the evenings and are thankful we had the pleasure of meeting her.

Christina Calvo with Makena

Christina took care of Makena from the very beginning and did a fantastic job. We always knew Makena was in good hands when Christina was with her. Carole and Christina were in the back "wing" of A2 nursery with Makena and Alyssa for the first 8-10 weeks and I overheard several conversations between the two of them regarding who had the cutest baby! We'll never forget the "Quilao wing" in A2 nursery.

Cathy Kennedy with Riley

These 2 apples might have fallen from the same tree. Cathy might be the real person responsible for the spunk and feisty attitude Riley displayed so early in the NICU. Cathy always had a calming nature and comforting words during those early days when the roller coaster ride in the NICU was so crazy. Cathy always seemed to push Riley over those little hurdles she needed to jump so she could come home to us!

Carole Schiller (Aunt Carole) with Alyssa

Carole was in the delivery room when the girls were born and took care of Alyssa from Day 1. She was also our primary nurse on day shift when the girls were co-bedded. Carole and I spent most of our days together over the 4 months that the girls were in the NICU and she gave Steve and I the majority of our "training" in caring for preemies/multiples! Carole has a great sense of humor and went above and beyond when caring for the girls.

One of our awesome Neonatologists, Dr. Sarah Buxton, with Alyssa the night before she went home.

Dr. Buxton was always willing to take the time to answer all of our questions or discuss any concerns we had. She even returned phone calls at midnight. What a dedicated doctor! We always knew that she truly cared about our babies.

We brought the girls back to the NICU on Christmas Eve 2006 to visit the nurses.
